●"Divine Victory" rally

On 22 September 2006 hundreds of thousands gathered in the southern suburbs for the "Divine Victory rally", and Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah appeared in public for the first time since the war, declaring that "the time of defeats is over and the time of victories has come" and that the victory belonged to all Lebanon. He revealed that the resistance held "more than 20,000 rockets" and had rebuilt its structure, affirming that the weapons were not for internal use and "we do not want to keep them for ever and ever", but the causes must be dealt with first; he called for a national unity government, a fair electoral law and support for the army, "and the army and the resistance are brothers whom no one can separate", demanded that UNIFIL not spy on the resistance, and denied that the war was over the Iranian nuclear file or the tribunal.
