✸Future TV shut and Hariri orders his men to stand down

At dawn on 9 May 2008 the fighting resumed and the loyalist (14 March) militias lost what remained to them in West Beirut; the offices of Future TV were stormed and its broadcast cut, Hariri's other media outlets were shut, and Saad Hariri ordered his men to hand their weapons to the army. In the evening two civilians were killed in Sidon, a woman in Bar Elias and eight near Aley as the fighting in the Mountain began.
