✸Katyushas on Kiryat Shmona in reply to the Sidon massacre

On 19 August 1997 the Islamic Resistance answered in broad daylight with Katyusha rockets on Kiryat Shmona and claimed responsibility, in the first announced shelling of the settlements since the April 1996 Understanding; Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah later held that this reply "brought the April Understanding back to life" after the monitoring committee had nearly turned it into mere statements.
