From 15 to 17 October 1978 the foreign ministers of the states taking part in the Arab Deterrent Force met at Beiteddine and issued the "Beiteddine Declaration" to consolidate the ceasefire after the Hundred Days' War and extend the force's mandate; Sudan, Saudi Arabia and the UAE then announced their intention to withdraw.
