On 30 July 2006 Nabih Berri and Fouad Siniora announced a united position at a joint press conference: a halt to all negotiations, priority to an immediate, comprehensive and unconditional ceasefire, and an international inquiry into Qana; Berri said "the terms of the prisoner exchange have changed". Siniora asked Rice not to come, and she announced from Jerusalem a 48–72-hour deadline for Israel, while Olmert said operations would continue "at least another two weeks". In the field the mujahideen trapped Golani soldiers in a house on the Taibeh axis and destroyed a tank and a Humvee at Adaisseh.
