●Palestine Liberation Army intervenes

In January 1976, with the fall of Karantina (18 January), units of the Palestine Liberation Army stationed in Syria (the Hittin and Qadisiyah brigades) entered Lebanon under undeclared Syrian cover to support the National Movement and the Palestinians; the first direct Syrian intervention before the official entry in June.
