✸Shebaa Farms ambush in reply to the Quneitra strike

On 28 January 2015 Hezbollah hit an Israeli military convoy with Kornet missiles in the Shebaa Farms, killing an officer and a soldier, in reply to the assassination of Jihad Mughniyeh and his comrades in Quneitra; Israel answered with shelling in which a Spanish UNIFIL soldier was killed. On 30 January Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah described the Quneitra strike as a deliberate assassination and the Shebaa Farms operation as a daylight reply against forces on alert, then declared: "We do not recognise rules of engagement. That is over", and "You have tested us; do not test us again."
