✍The ceasefire that opened the road to Taif

On 22 September 1989 the Arab tripartite committee (Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Algeria) announced a ceasefire between Aoun and the Syrian forces after six months of the War of Liberation and about a thousand dead, with the opening of the crossings and the airport; parliament met in Taif a week later.
