On 6 February 1983 a car bomb exploded outside the PLO's Research Center in West Beirut, months after the Israeli army looted its archive during the occupation of Beirut, killing between 18 and 20 and wounding more than 115. The "Front for the Liberation of Lebanon from Foreigners" claimed the operation.
