⚔The US invasion of Iraq

On 20 March 2003 the US–British invasion of Iraq began on the pretext of weapons of mass destruction, and Baghdad fell on 9 April. The collapse of Saddam's regime opened Iraq to sectarian conflict and to jihadist organisations whose effects reached Lebanon.
