At dawn on 26 February 2014 Hezbollah laid an ambush at Otaiba, east of the Eastern Ghouta, for fighters of the Nusra Front and other factions who were crossing from the besieged Ghouta towards Adra; between 152 and 192 of them were killed according to the sources. The official media said most of them were foreigners.
