☠Assassination of the Sunni Mufti

On 16 May 1989 the Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Hassan Khaled, was assassinated by a car bomb in Aisha Bakkar (22 dead) after his positions calling for an end to the War of Liberation; the perpetrators were never identified.
