●Ashura speech against the cartoons of the Prophet

On 9 February 2006, at the Ashura march in the southern suburbs, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah attacked the Danish cartoons insulting the Prophet Mohammed, saying that had Imam Khomeini's fatwa on Salman Rushdie been carried out "these people would not have dared", and called for demonstrations and a boycott; it came days after the burning of the Danish consulate in Ashrafieh.
