On 6 December 2017 Trump announced the United States' recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital and the moving of the embassy there; demonstrations broke out across the Islamic world, and Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah called on 7 December for a "third intifada" and then addressed a mass solidarity demonstration in the southern suburbs on 11 December.
