✸Hijacking of Sabena flight 571

A passenger aircraft was hijacked by four members of the Black September organisation, a Palestinian armed group. Captain Levy landed the aircraft at Lod airport following the hijackers' instructions. The hijackers demanded that Israel release Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the hostages. The operation failed after the Red Cross asked to bring water and food onto the aircraft, accompanied by an Israeli commando squad that entered and killed the hijackers.
