●The false-witnesses crisis

In October 2010 the "false witnesses" crisis reached its peak: Hezbollah demanded that the file be referred to the Judicial Council and accused the Information Branch under Wissam al-Hassan of fabricating the testimonies, and Hariri refused; on 27 October women in the southern suburbs confronted international investigators who had asked a gynaecologist for her patients' files since 2003 (more than 7,000 files, reduced to 17), and on 28 October Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah called on "every official and every citizen to boycott these investigators", holding that what they collected reached Israel.
