☠Assassination of Riad al-Solh

On his way to Marka airport north-east of Amman, returning to Beirut after visiting King Abdullah, Riad al-Solh was shot dead in his car by members of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party. The killing was retaliation for the execution of Antoun Saadeh.
