¤The Paris II conference

On 23 November 2002 Chirac and Hariri gathered the donor states and financing funds in Paris, which pledged some 4.4 billion dollars to refinance Lebanon's debt and lower its interest, in exchange for reforms that were never carried out; the conference saved the lira and postponed the collapse.
