☠Assassination of Rashid Karami

On 1 June 1987 prime minister Rashid Karami was killed by a bomb planted in the military helicopter carrying him from Tripoli to Beirut; Samir Geagea was convicted of the operation in 1999, and Salim al-Hoss succeeded Karami.
