●Nasrallah's press conference after the "Basmat Watan" protests

On 5 June 2006 Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said the protests in the suburbs had been spontaneous and denied any attack on places of worship or property, accepted a judicial investigation into the beating of some young men and expressed readiness to compensate those harmed, calling for a "charter of honour" among the political forces barring insult and abuse; he also answered the statement of the 14 March forces and the interior ministry.
