On 11 November 2001, Martyr's Day, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah rejected the "war on terror" and the war on Afghanistan and mocked the Arab leaders' request to halt operations during Ramadan, said that placing the party on the American list targeted Lebanon's strength and that freezing its funds would be acceptance of dictates, and praised the martyrdom operations in Jerusalem and Haifa: "America is the most hostile to the Arabs and Muslims after 11 September."
