Colonel Antoine Barakat (a son of Zgharta) led a military movement within the army from the Fayadieh barracks and declared his loyalty to the president of the time, Suleiman Frangieh, against the "televised coup" declared by Brigadier Aziz al-Ahdab demanding the president's resignation.
