AttackerSSNP➜TargetIsrael / IDF
The martyrdom bomber Hisham Abbas (a member of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party) drove his car bomb into the checkpoints and fortifications of the occupation and its collaborators at the crossing, killing and wounding a number of occupation troops and Lahd's army men. The crossing was closed for about three years. Immediately after the bombing the Israeli occupation army's artillery launched violent direct retaliatory shelling on the houses inside the town of Kfar Tibnit. The shelling and aggression martyred 12 civilians of the town and wounded others, in what became known as the Kfar Tibnit massacre.
