✍Arab ceasefire (Riyadh mini-summit)

On 18 October 1976 the Riyadh mini-summit (Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, Kuwait, Lebanon, the PLO) decided on a ceasefire and the formation of the "Arab Deterrent Force" under the command of the Lebanese president; the Cairo summit endorsed it on 25 October, giving Arab legitimacy to the Syrian presence.
