PartiesBanque du Liban

After the lira fell from 2,500 to the dollar in 1992 and stabilised gradually under Hariri's government, in December 1997 the Banque du Liban fixed the official exchange rate at 1,507.5 lira to the dollar (a band of 1,501–1,514); the rate remained official until 2023 and became the basis of the peg system that collapsed in 2019.
