⚔Assault on Gaza

On 28 June 2006 Israel began Operation "Summer Rains" in Gaza after the capture of Shalit, invading parts of the Strip and bombing the power station; it came two weeks before the July war. On 30 June Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said that Washington accepted the siege, the bombing of power stations and bridges, and "planning to invade the whole of the Gaza Strip", and warned against pressuring the Palestinian resistance to release Shalit for nothing: "The matter is not a matter of one Israeli soldier" but of some ten thousand prisoners.
