PartiesSaudi ArabiaEgyptJordanUnited StatesHezbollah

On 13 July 2006 Saudi Arabia laid "full responsibility" on the resistance for its "irresponsible actions" and called on it to "end the crisis it has created", distinguishing between "legitimate resistance and uncalculated adventures"; Mubarak and Abdullah II followed the next day, and Bush said from Germany that Syria must be "held to account" and that Israel had the right to defend itself. The Arab journalists' and lawyers' unions condemned the statement, and Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah answered on 14 July: "Yes, we have been adventurers since 1982."
