⚔The battle for Qusayr

On 19 May 2013 the Syrian army and Hezbollah entered the town of Qusayr from several axes after the evacuation of civilians, taking about 45% of it on the first day and recovering the Qusayr military airfield and the Atifiyeh water station after a battle of more than 24 hours. At dawn on 5 June 2013 the town fell after a rapid night attack and the gunmen withdrew towards Dabaa and Buwaida al-Sharqiya. It was the opposition's first major defeat, and Qusayr became a rear base for the party.
